Introduction
The Middle School Agriculture Science Technology Education (ASTE) Program aims to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students in grades six, seven, and eight.
This initiative seeks to instill a deep understanding of agriculture, foster a passion for learning, and equip students with essential skills in science, technology, and hands-on agricultural practices.
Hands-On Learning Activities
Small Animal Lab and Addition of Livestock (goats)
Establishing a small animal lab within the school premises equipped with gardening tools, animal pens, and laboratory equipment.
Introducing goats to the program to provide students with hands-on experience in animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and health care.
Provide students with practical experience in caring for and managing small animals.
Engage students in real-world agricultural practices to enhance their understanding of animal biology and behavior.
Encourage students to problem-solve and make informed decisions regarding animal care, nutrition, and health management.
Foster responsibility, empathy, and teamwork skills through the care and management of small animals.
Engage students in a project of building and maintaining a compost bin
Greenhouse projects and activities: experiences in plant biology, environmental science, and sustainable agriculture.
Introduce students to potential career pathways in veterinary science, animal husbandry, and agricultural-related industries.
