I hope everyone is enjoying their summer recess.
Two important July updates:
CDC Guidelines for 2021-2022
On Friday, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) released its most recent guidelines for the 2021-2022 school year.

On Friday the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) and Department of Public Health (DPH) also released the following public statement “DPH and CSDE are reviewing this guidance and will be assessing Connecticut’s current and future guidance for schools in light of the CDC recommendations.”
Since that release, I have received many emails from families on what this means for our students. We currently remain voluntary with face coverings for the 2021-2022 school year.
As we wait on state guidance it is important to remember that guidance is not an executive order, or law, and subject to change, or interpretation. Once the next guidance from CSDE and DPH is released, I will meet with the Reopening Committee and ensure that the interests of our students, parents, and communities are protected to ensure in-person education.
Finance Office – Accounting Manager
I am excited to announce that Craig Robillard will join the district as the shared LPS / RSD6 Accounting Manager. During the future, this position will help refocus our fiscal office and long-term goal of savings for all towns.
Craig, a resident from Goshen, graduated from Bryant College and began his career in banking before transitioning to software consulting and eventually accepting a position in the business office at a local independent school. Craig has a broad background in business processes and is skilled in data analysis and problem-solving. Most of his career has been geared toward improving business operations, reporting, and driving institutional efficiencies. Craig is a past member of the Regional School District 6 Board of Education and participates in many local events. Craig is also a parent of two daughters who currently are students at WAMOGO. Please join me in welcoming Craig to the team.
