Weekly Update October 27


Dear LMS and LHS School Community, 

Here are a few reminders for upcoming activities and events at LMS and LHS. 

  • Red Ribbon Week : for LMS students starts up on Monday, October 30 - Nov. 3 with this year's theme: Be Kind To your Mind. Live Drug Free.

Monday: Wear Red to show your are against drugs!

Tuesday: Drugs are scary! Say Boo to Drugs! Wear an appropriate costume. (no masks or accessories)

Wednesday: Sock it to drugs by wearing your favorite crazy socks!

Thursday: Team up against drugs. Wear your favorite sports team jersey/shirt.

Friday: Follow your 'dreams' , don't do drugs. Wear comfy clothes or pajamas.

Throughout the week, students will engage in educational activities that provide a visible way to promote drug free and healthy lifestyles. Our week-long activities will also include spotlighting influential role models and peers through an online video series, entitled Storytellers. The video series is sponsored by a nonprofit organization called natural high, whose mission is to inspire youth to make healthy choices.   • Veterans Wall: The LHS/LMS community would like to recognize the veterans in our student's lives with a Veteran's Day Wall in our Main Lobby.  If you have a veteran in your family and would like to have them recognized, please complete this Google Form by Wednesday, November 1st.  We thank all veterans for their service!   • Autumn Fest: for LHS high school students (9-12) will be held on Friday, November 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. A variety of games, karaoke and snacks will be offered by each student council class. Admission is $10. 

  • Thanksgiving Bouquets: The Class of 2024 is teaming up with Lily at Bantam Blooms to sell Thanksgiving Day bouquets that will be available for pickup at the LHS parent drop-off after school on Tuesday, November 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Each bouquet is $30, and checks can be made payable to LHS with "Class of 2024" in the memo section.  You can order using this form and then pay when you pick up your flowers.

 

  • Holiday Craft Fair! Interact club will hold their annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the LMS/LHS Cafeteria. Local vendors and craftspeople interested in having a table at the craft fair should contact Theresa Simaitis, Interact Advisor at: simaitist@lpsct.org. Mark your calendar to attend the fair on December 2nd, get your holiday shopping done early and locally, while supporting the LHS Interact club.
