Dear LMS and LHS School Community, 

 Here are a few reminders for upcoming activities and events at LMS and LHS. 

  • Spirit Week! Was a great success, with great participation by middle and high school students and staff ! 

  • “Under the Lights”: Litchfield vs Wamogo Varsity Games, have been rescheduled for Sunday, October 1 with Girl’s Soccer at 5:45 p.m. and Boy’s Soccer at 7:30 p.m. All games will be played at the Plumb Hill Field Complex.  

  • National Honor Society Induction: for new members into the Mortimer Warren Chapter will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 7 p.m. in the LIS Auditorium. 

  • MS Philadelphia Trip 2024: for grade 8 students in May 2024. Parents/caregivers check your email for a letter and draft itinerary going out this afternoon. 

  • MS Friday Night Out!  This middle school collaboration with Wamogo Middle School will be held on Friday, October 13 at Wamogo in the Cafeteria from 6-8 pm.  The social mixer will include food, refreshments, and spooktacular activities throughout the evening.  Admissions is $10.00 per student. Completed FNO Permission Slip needs to be turned in by October 6 in order to participate. Please direct any questions to Mrs. Gibbs, School Counselor at:  gibbsc@lpsct.org  

  • Holiday Craft Fair! Interact club will hold their annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the LMS/LHS Cafeteria. Local vendors and craftspeople interested in having a table at the craft fair should contact Theresa Simaitis, Interact Advisor at: simaitist@lpsct.org. Mark your calendar to attend the fair on December 12th, get your holiday shopping done early and locally, while supporting the LHS Interact club.

  • Internet Safety Training On behalf of the US Attorney’s Office, District of Connecticut and the Department of Children and Families: Tweens and Teens spend many hours per day online chatting and interacting with friends and people who they may not know well and who may put them at risk. To educate parents, teachers and others, the US Attorney’s Office, District of Connecticut, in collaboration with the Department of Children and Families, are offering two FREE OF CHARGE online Internet Safety Trainings.  This training will introduce parents, teachers and others to internet and cell phone applications and video game systems being used by the tweens/teens that could potentially put them at risk. Training will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, and Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.    Registration is required and available with this link.     • LPS Early Release: Friday, October 6 for middle and high school students at 11:00 a.m. 

    • LPS closed:  Monday, October 9 for middle and high school students and staff.
