Dear LMS and LHS Community:

  • Alumni College Panel: sponsored by the School Counseling Department on Friday, May 19 in the LIS Auditorium,  for LHS juniors and seniors only. 

  • Community Outdoor Movie Night:  hosted by the Class of 2025 on Friday, May 19 on the middle school softball field. Admission is $5.00 a person, or $20 per family. Evening opens at 7:30 p.m. and the movie “The Parent Trap” will start at dark. Food available for purchase. Rain date, Friday, May 26th. 

  • AOK Touch-A-Truck: fundraiser for Litchfield Acts-of-Kindness Club (AOK) on Saturday, May 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Litchfield High School. Event is open to the public. Rain date, Sunday, May 21st. 

  • Car Wash:  Litchfield Baseball Program (High School and Middle School) is hosting a car wash on Saturday, 5/20 from 10 AM-1PM at the Litchfield Firehouse at 258 West Street in Litchfield. All funds go to supporting both Litchfield High School and Middle School baseball succeed in their mission to provide excellent experiences and resources to our players and coaches. Tickets are being pre-sold by players on both teams for $5. Anyone can also come on the day and pay for a wash by the baseball team! Checks can be made out to Litchfield High School Baseball and "baseball" written in the memo line. We look forward to seeing everyone there! Go Cowboys!

  • Graduation Lawn Signs Sale Extended!  Are you looking for a way to recognize our 2023 LHS graduates?   The Class of 2023 is once again partnering with Murphy Boys for a graduation yard sign sale.  A second online store has been opened for anyone who missed the first order deadline.  Two styles of signs are available at different price points.  Scan the QR code or click on the link below to purchase with a secure payment through the online store.  The store will close at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, May 16th.  Please contact Patti O’Neill at oneillp@lpsct.org with any questions. 2023 LHS Graduates - Yard Sign Online Store - Round 2 Store 

  • Get Outside and Play! In fulfillment of the Governor's proclamation establishing a Get Outside and Play for Children’s Mental Health Day, both Litchfield Public Schools and Region 6 Schools are planning a cooperative event for our K-12 students at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury on Tuesday, May 23rd with a scheduled rain date of Wednesday, May 24th.  We are pleased to share more details about this event on this webpage.

  • Nature’s Classroom: Field trip on Friday, June 2 for 7th graders. Students will depart from school at 7:30 a.m. and return to school at 4:30 p.m. 

  • Moving-Up Ceremony: for 8th grade students and families, will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 5:00 p.m. This is an outdoor ceremony, but in case of inclement weather it will be moved indoors. 

  • 8th Grade Field Trip: to Holiday Hill Resort in Prospect, CT on Thursday, June 15th. Students will depart from school at 8:00 a.m. and return to school at 4:45 p.m. 

  • 2023 Graduation: At the recent BOE meeting, the graduation date for Class of 2023 has been approved for Friday, June 16, 2023. Graduation ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Plumb Hill Fields. 

Rain date is scheduled for Saturday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m.  

  • R20 Town Tours

There has been a lot of exciting work completed and more to follow in future months.  Chris  Leone, superintendent,  will be hosting informational and feedback meetings as follows:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week: Thank you to members of LMS/LHS PTO, and families for all the kindness you shared this week with our faculty and staff. Much appreciated.
