Weekly Update 11/4/22

Dear Center School Families,

DEADLINE EXTENDED to Monday, November 7th.

We have once again opened the Center School store through Sportsman.  If you would like to order any Center School clothing please click here for the website. A portion of each purchase will go toward activities for the students.

If you are coming to the building to volunteer in your child’s class or join a meeting, you will need to scan your license upon entering the building. Parents picking up or dropping off will not need to do the scan, but should have their ID ready as we may have new staff at dismissal.

We would like to honor all veterans from your family by placing a star bearing their name and service branch on a Wall of Honor outside the gymnasium.  The Veterans Day letter can be found here.  In addition, we are looking to share pictures of our veterans during our celebration.  If you would like your veterans picture to be included, please email or send in a picture.  This gives all Veterans an opportunity to be recognized.  Our email address is Centerschool@lpsct.org.

Information regarding our upcoming conferences can be found here.  This year we are asking parents and caregivers to sign up using an online portal.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office.

PTO Book fair will be November 15-17. Families are invited to shop during conferences.  Monday, November 14th from 5-7 will be Milk and Cookies Night.  Teachers will be reading throughout the evening.  More information will be shared by the PTO.

Center School is happy to announce that we will be partnering with Scholastic Book Clubs during their annual Pajama Drive. Please see the flyer in the Virtual Backpack for more information. Pajamas will be donated to Klingberg Family Center in New Britain, CT. For each new pair of pajamas donated, Scholastic will match by donating a brand new book to the family center. Donations are greatly appreciated, however participation is optional.

Please remember to park in the parent lot when dropping off and picking up students.  The staff lot is only available to those with handicap parking permits.  The pathway to the lot must remain open, it is not a parking spot.

Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us and partnering with us in your child’s education!

Best,

Lisa
