Weekly Update

Dear Center School Families.

What a wonderful first week back!  Thank you all for sharing your child(ren) with us!

Please continue to send your child to school on time every day.  Consistent attendance is imperative for a student’s academic success.  We understand that illness and appointments sometimes can not be avoided.  Please read the District policy on attendance here.

We will be providing all families with a School Directory this year.  If you do NOT want to be in the directory or would like to limit the information included, please complete the form here.

If you (or a family member) is picking up students at the end of the day, please remember to bring your identification.  We will be training additional staff on the front doors and require that staff check identification.  We will continue to have an adult sign students out daily.

If you need to change your child's dismissal arrangements, please send a note to school with your child and it will be forwarded to the Main Office. Please refer to the following Board of Education regulation 5131.1 for procedures regarding bus transportation: In accordance with Board of Education regulation #5131.1, students will be assigned to ride the bus or van per their designated route and stop. The only changes in assigned route and bus stop will be for established day-care provisions or established after school activities, i.e. a weekly piano lesson or a publicized library program.  If a regular alternate schedule needs to be arranged, parents/guardians must submit written notice to the school prior to the start of the school year or two weeks in advance. Only in the case of a rare emergency may parents contact the school to make an alternate route or bus stop change. Changes in bus routes will not be accommodated for playdates, parties, unestablished activities, and so on.

At the end of each month, we will have a building-wide Town Meeting.  During our Town Meeting we celebrate the student’s accomplishments for the month.  Students redeem their SuperHero tickets for a reward of their choice.  Information will be sent home with your child so that they can share how many tickets they earned and if they chose to save their tickets or redeem them that month. Our next school spirit day will be September 30th.  We encourage students to wear their Litchfield shirt or any blue shirt.

Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us and partnering with us in your child’s education!

Best,

Lisa

 Food Services

If you would like for your child to receive breakfast at school, please sign up using this form.  The food service program needs to track the breakfasts provided, so you must order by 7:45am daily.  You can also order for the full week ahead of time.
