Weekly Update Sign

Dear Center School Families,

We had an exciting week with many students going on field trips.  Grade 3 students visited Tapping Reeve and viewed the scarecrow exhibit.  Our second grade classroom each created a scarecrow to be displayed.  Grade 1 students took a trip to Bunnell Farm to pick a pumpkin.  Next week, Kindergarten students will have an opportunity to go to Bunnell Farm for their pumpkin and our Grade 2 students will take their turn at Tapping Reeve.  We are all very excited to be out and about to visit places in our community.

As much as some of us love our dogs, not everyone is as comfortable.  Please refrain from bringing dogs to drop off and pick up.

Next week is our Fall Center School Spirit Week.  Please click here for PreK and click here for K-3 information.

Please be sure to sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher.  Information has been sent home by the teachers this month.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

From Rachel Caporuscio, our school counselor:

Each grade level is now moving onto the second unit in the Second Step program: Emotion Management. In this unit your child will learn how to identify and label emotions and use emotion-management strategies-to calm strong feelings down.

Attached is a one-page unit overview that introduces the concepts and skills being taught. This Home Link offers ideas that you can use to reinforce your child’s learning and support their practice beyond the classroom.
